Vocal coach
Tricia Kelly, a recent arrival to the Los Angeles area, but a native of Cambridge, MA, singer Tricia Kelly has been a favorite of the New England music circuit for years and is quickly making a name for herself here, in LA – entertaining audiences with her upbeat show and critically acclaimed vocal style. In 2006 gig “50 Years of Rock & Roll” at the Pavilion in Santa Ana, Tricia was chosen by Bill Medley (Righteous Brothers) after seeing her perform at a karaoke show in Las Vegas! The show ran for 4 months.
Tricia has appeared in various theater and film projects including a role play “Pack of Lies” with Lost in Space star, Marta Kristen/Closer to home, she has sung with the New England bands Mo-Shun and FM and performed as a solo act live and in the studio.
Tricia released her first recording project co-written with producer Lester Goodwine, “Keep On Movin’ (LLP Records) in 2002. With music reminiscent of the great hits of the disco era, this critically acclaimed release has received widespread radio airply on both broadcast and Internet radio stations. Tricia’s music has been called “’upbeat, toe tapping soul’ that makes you ‘want to get up and dance.’ (Tracy Lanouette) and her song ‘Show Me’ was a finalist in the Make A Star Contest (www.makeastart.com) holding for three weeks at the top of each round of contest.
Tricia studied at The Boston Conservatory of Music (Musical Theatre Program) and with vocal coach Jeannie Deva and is herself a trained vocal coach in the The Deva Method ™. Credits include opening for KC and the Sunshine Band at the Cape Cod Melody Tent, singing the National Anthem at The Fleet Center for the Boston Celtics and founding the ‘Going, going going Gong Show’ currently running regularly at the Sundancer’s Cape Cod, now without her! She continues to perform regionally (Los Angeles) and nationally in support of her current CD. Her most recent project was on the show “Don’t forget the Lyrics”.
Tricia can prepare you for stage, auditions or contests. She can also teach you to use your voice just for fun. She is adept in teaching students from the ages of 12 and up.
The Deva Method (TM) is a non-classical vocal technique that allows a vocalist to avoid vocal blow-out, increase range, flexibility and power! Tricia was apprenticed personally by Jeannie Deva and has been a certified Deva Method Instructor since 1995. Some of her students have gone on to perform in professional musical theatre, signing recording deals, producing their own material and touring and have helped others become some brilliant karaoke singers. ;) So whether for professional training or just for your own personal goals, Tricia will tailor your lessons to you!
